Yes, education can transform lives in more than one way, and not only of the recipient, but everyone connected to the recipient! Extensive surveys and groundwork of the NGOs and government bodies reveal that the more we emphasize on child education in India, the better will be the outcome – for the child, their family, their socio-economic, health, and living standards; and certainly, for the entire nation.
The reason being this, we at the Each One Educate One Foundation look at transforming lives of rural, under-served children for the long-term by going beyond just academics. Within the premise of our three Edu-Care Programs – Each One Educate One, Each One Higher Educate One, and Each One Medical Educate One, we take care of:
- Education from Grade 6 to PhD level including MBBS, Nursing, and Allied Health Sciences
- Nutrition that includes wholesome meals three times, healthy drinks and snacks
- Accommodation in safe, secure, separate campuses for boys and girls
- Daily essentials such as clothes, hygiene kits, bedding, etc.
- Healthcare with regular check-ups and required treatment is given to students across all campuses
- Coaching and Training Programs to support children to hone their talent and skills
- Paid Internship Programs for undergraduate and postgraduate students
So far, we have transformed the lives of more than 18,000 children. At present, we are educating and nurturing 3,000 rural, underprivileged children in 28 campuses across 20 districts.
The transforming power of education
Here’s a testimony of the potential power of education in transforming lives of rural, underprivileged children.
“Hello! I am Karthik. I am a Senior Engineer researching the applications of Artificial Intelligence in the Construction Industry.
As a 14-year-old boy, I joined as a Grade 8 student in Sri Sathya Sai Loka Seva Group of Educational Institutions. Thanks to my Alma Mater and the Each One Educate One Foundation, I received,
- Values-based, free education
- Academic knowledge in line with my aspiration of becoming an engineer
- Fine arts and sports
- Training programs for smart thinking, soft skills, and communication skills
After completing Grade 12, I pursued my passion of taking up a Civil Engineering course.
- I got a 2-year internship opportunity at Sathya Sai Grama, Muddenahalli.
- This allowed me to work with a project team including principal architects, consultants, and contractors.
- This gave me a hands-on experience and a complete picture of the ground reality, greatly boosting my self-confidence. I feel proud to be a part of this great Institution and a mission that has molded me into a competent engineer and a conscientious individual. And, as an expression of my gratitude, today I am engaged within the same Ecosystem as a Senior Engineer where I am able to not only make a comfortable living but more importantly have the greater satisfaction & fulfillment of giving back to society through the various humanitarian projects undertaken by the group. I was supported to complete my Masters in Structural Engineering with distinction, in 2019.
- During the training phase, along with 13 others, I was involved in various projects that included project planning, floor planning, and 3D designing.
- Leadership and communication skills training were also imparted to us.
- This unparalleled exposure instilled huge confidence in all of us.
I wholeheartedly thank the Each One Educate One Foundation for sponsoring my education from school to university level and dedicatedly supporting me during my education sojourn that enabled and empowered a village boy like me to achieve my ambition. With the combined support from society, you, and me, the Each One Educate One Foundation will be able to transform the lives of many more rural children.”
