When Beneficiaries turn Benefactors

Truly E1E1 begins with a feeling!

The young alumni of the Sri Sathya Sai Vidyaniketanam Campus in Gulbarga showed us that nothing can come in the way of hearts that yearn to help. Two batches of students who recently completed high school collectively offered money saved from their pocket expenses to fund the tuition fee of current students. These students hadn’t started earning yet. But they didn’t want to wait until being able to contribute and participate in the e1e1 initiative. Truly, where there is a will, there always is a way.

One Nation Youth (ONY)

A truly gratifying Impact Story of our Values-based Education system in Action!

ONY represents the coming together of the recently passed-out youth Alumni from our partner institutions, who are still pursuing professional courses and higher studies in colleges spread across different parts of South India. Their involvement in the societal activities is a testimonial to the values imbibed by them and the spirit of paying forward, for the investment the society made in them.

Some of the activities taken up by the youth of ONY:

  • Galvanizing youth from their colleges and communities that they are a part of, to participate in socially relevant causes and regularly engage in voluntary service activities
  • Feeding and clothing the poor and needy
  • Covid relief activities
  • Eco-conservation activities
  • Blood donation drives and providing healthcare support through networking

Testimonials

Preethi Basavaraj

Batch 15 - 17

Sri Sathya Sai Prashanthi Niketanam Pre-University College, Chikkaballapur

A couple of years back, my family was in a dire situation. My father, the only bread winner of the family, lost his job. Though I was very good at academics, I knew this meant an end to my dream of studying further. But thanks to the Sri Sai Sathya Loka Seva Group of Educational Institutions, not only did I get to pursue higher school education, I did so at no cost to my family. My father too found a job as the Head Cook in the campus kitchen and life has never been better for us. I now hope to pay it forward by serving the society as a doctor.

Umakanta Biradar

Gulbarga Campus

A boy from the impoverished village – Gaur. His father, a lorry driver was left incapacitated due to a road accident. His mother has since been forced to take up a job to support the family. Overnight, this put at risk Umakanth’s chances of any education.
Joining the Sri Sathya Sai Educational Institution in Gulbarga (Karnataka), the institution’s integral and holistic education helped Umakanta discover the athlete in him who has since has competed successfully at the state level.
His appreciation of the education he received and the role society has played in enabling that has inspired him to look at a career that will help others like him to have a chance at such education.
