One Girl Educated; One Village Inspired

Archana L
Staff, Sri Sathya Sai Loka Seva Gurukulam Group of Institutions

Growing up in a small rural village where girls' education was often discouraged, I never imagined studying beyond the 10th standard. My dreams felt fragile under the weight of societal expectations.

The blessed opportunity to join Sri Sathya Sai Prashanthi Bala Mandira, Chikkaballapur, and later Sri Sathya Sai Prashanthiniketanam, where I received free, value-based education, transformed my life. I eventually pursued my graduation and post-graduation at the Sri Sathya Sai University for Human Excellence. These institutions gave me more than education; they gave me identity, purpose, and a life rooted in character and values.

Coming from a Kannada-medium background, the transition to English-medium education was challenging. I even failed one subject during my pre-university exams. But I was given a second chance. That moment changed everything. I stopped studying for marks and began learning for transformation.

I was introduced to Paravidya, the higher knowledge that leads to self-realisation, and understood that the true goal of education is enlightenment, not just employment.

With God's grace, I completed my graduation with a 9.5 CGPA and later cleared the Karnataka State Eligibility Test (KSET), becoming eligible to teach as an Assistant Professor in Biology — the very subject I once failed. This achievement is a living testimony to the transformative power of this institution.

From Struggle to Stage

2nd Year BPA (Bharatanatyam) — Sri Sathya Sai University for Human Excellence

I lost my parents when I was five years old, and life changed overnight. With two brothers facing serious challenges, my childhood was filled with uncertainty. I joined the Sri Sathya Sai Institution in Hyderabad, where I found structure, discipline, and the opportunity to rebuild my life.

I discovered my strengths. I earned a black belt in Karate, trained in Kuchipudi dance, explored arts and crafts, and focused on my academics. Education became my turning point — it gave me confidence and the belief that I could shape my own future.

I joined Sri Sathya Sai Prashantiniketanam, Nallakadirenahalli campus for my PUC and chose to continue my higher education here despite facing discouragement and the withdrawal of support from well-wishers. It was a difficult decision, but one that defined my path.

Today, I am pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Bharatnatyam. This institution gave me stability, dignity, and the opportunity to pursue my passion without financial burden. It gave me not just education, but a second chance at life.

The Each One Educate One initiative shows how educating one individual can rebuild a life and create lasting impact. I am living proof of that transformation. Because someone chose to support my education, I stand today as a confident young woman, a dancer, and a martial artist — ready to inspire others.

"One act of education can change a life. And one changed life can inspire many more."

Turning Dreams into Reality Through Free Medical Education

Damini
3rd Year MBBS — Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences & Research

I grew up in a village without a school and walked several kilometres each day to attend classes. My father works as a cook and my mother in a garment factory. To pay for my NEET coaching, my mother sold her earrings — the last piece of gold she owned.

Despite these hardships, I was determined to study and change not just my future, but the future of children in my village who shared the same dreams.

Today, the daughter of a cook and a daily wage worker is becoming a doctor through free medical education. Our college has modern labs and facilities that provide hands-on training of the highest standard.

Beyond academics, we are taught compassion. Through our family adoption programme, we visit nearby villages, screen families for illnesses, and understand rural healthcare realities. This experience has strengthened my resolve to serve communities like the one I come from.
