A Quantum Leap from Farming to Healing

I come from a family of farmers in Melur, a small village in Karnataka. All my family members are engaged in farm labor as we do not have any land holdings. I got to know about the Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research through a social media platform because of its new concept of providing free-of-cost medical education which is totally unheard of.

Hailing from a humble family, I decided to join this college because of this facility, but I arrived with a lot of apprehensions regarding its standard of education, campus life etc. However, after having joined here, I am now convinced that this is one of the best medical colleges in the country because of its state-of-the-art infrastructure and facilities, highly experienced faculty, and a well-equipped library with a good collection of books and study materials.

Over and above all this, the institution, through its unique spiritual approach to education from school to university, also guides us to cultivate good human values in our lives, stressing on the importance of becoming service-minded doctors with compassionate hearts, competent heads and capable hands.

This institution has relieved my humble family from a huge financial burden which would have been a barrier to realizing my dream of becoming the first medical doctor in my family, from my village.
