Postgraduate Gold Series: Chapter 1 - Divyashree G.M.

My name is Divyashree G.M. I am deeply grateful for the journey that began in a small town called Doddaballapur and brought me to where I am today. Coming from a lower-middle-class family, my dreams were often weighed down by the hardships we faced, especially after a devastating fire in 2011 that left us with nothing. Yet, it was during these challenging times that TREP Gurukulam offered me hope through free, values-based education.

Later, I had the immense fortune to join Sri Sathya Sai Prashantiniketanam for my pre-university studies, which led me to pursue my undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at Sri Sathya Sai University for Human Excellence. I specialized in English literature and was honored with a gold medal. I feel both proud and humbled, for I am the first graduate in my family. This transformative education has not only eased the financial burdens on my family, but opened doors to a brighter future for all of us too.

Today, my younger sister is also studying at the same university, and my parents have found meaningful work at the Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research. Sri Sathya Sai institutions have truly embraced our entire family, and we are now empowered to pass on the love, support, and opportunities we have been blessed with.
