Taking forward the family legacy
Engaging in acts of kindness and contributing to the well-being of others can be profoundly fulfilling, and it has been four years that I am able to experience selfless love and the power of selfless service.
I was born into a middle-class family with a strong commitment to healthcare and service. My mother and sister are nurses while my brother has completed his Bachelor of Pharmacy and is currently working as a medical representative in Hyderabad. My father served as a security personnel at the Kondapaka Campus ensuring safety of all.
The unexpected news of my father suffering from gastric cancer disrupted the entire atmosphere of our house. We were not only shocked, but also felt utterly helpless because despite consulting in several hospitals, the true nature of his condition remained elusive. It was only upon bringing him to Hyderabad that we discovered he was in the advanced stages of cancer and to which he succumbed eventually. Things happened so quickly and everything was so out of control that it left a huge void in me. Soon after, my mother's salary became irregular where it was disbursed every six months and sometimes it covered only one or two months' salary. Though it became difficult to make ends meet, my brother and I continued our education. After I completed my nursing course, I joined the Kondapaka Campus as a nurse.
Despite the hardships my family endured, my association with the campus proved transformative. The experience not only provided me with invaluable insights, including leadership, anger management, humility, and a nurturing disposition, but also instilled in me the ethos of selfless service. Facing challenges, taking care of my family, and embracing these important values has strengthened my determination to do more good for others.
